Christmas Carol Concert

It is from this event that SPIFOX derives its name. The Scottish Property Industry Festival of Christmas began life in 1983, its aim to raise some funds by encouraging people to have a good time and spend a little along the way. These values remain at the core of SPIFOX to this day - have fun, raise cash and make a difference to the lives of young people in Scotland.

From its beginning at the Church of St Andrew and St George followed by school dinners at the Assembly Rooms, this Yuletide celebration is a true mark of the Industry's generosity and now attracts over 1500 guests.

Over the years funds raised at the Christmas Event have been distributed to charities large and small but regardless of the size and sophistication of the beneficiary every penny that is donated contributes to improving the lives of less fortunate children.

Held by many property professionals to mark the start of Christmas, our 32nd Carol Concert took place on Wednesday14th December 2016 at St Cuthbert's Parish Church followed by Lunch at the EICC.  This year we were entertained bythe ESMS Junior School Choir and for the second year running all the Readings in the Church were given by the children, each of whom was fantastic.  Our musical interlude was performed by the ESMS's 13 year-old soloist Matty Moore singing Little Road to Bethlehem (Michael Head).

For the fourth year in succession the Lunch took place in the EICC's Lennox Suite and where we surpassed the previous year's record attendance by seating 1582 guests.  Despite this huge increase in seating capacity we sold out in under an hour resulting in a very long waiting list.  We remain again the largest Charity Lunch held in the UK.

This year we were cautiously hoping to get close to last year's record net total of £220,000, we are delighted to advise we have raised way beyond our expectations and the net sums raised are approaching £245,000.  These monies will benefit principally our 2 principal beneficiaries being Kaimes School and the Edinburgh Sick Kids Friends Foundation.  Additionally the fabulous total will allow us to make a significant number of small donations to less well known, but equally deserving, Charities.

Please note that our 2017 event will be held on Wednesday 13th December, further information and the booking form will be available to download from 4pm on, or around 5th October - watch this space!
