Christmas Carol Concert

Held by many property professionals to mark the start of Christmas, our 34th Carol Concert took place on Wednesday 13th December 2017 at St Cuthbert's Parish Church followed by Lunch at the EICC. This year we were entertained by the Cramond Primary School Choir and for the third year running all the Readings in the Church were given by the children, each of whom was fantastic. Our musical interlude was performed by Blaire Shepherd, a P7 pupil at Cramond Primary, who provided us with a fantastic rendition of In the Bleak Midwinter. We too were delighted to be so warmly welcomed by St Cuthbert’s new Minister, Peter Sutton, and of course, to receive our continued spiritual guidance from SPIFOX Chaplain, David Denniston.

For the fifth year in succession the Lunch took place in the EICC's Lennox Suite and where we surpassed the previous year's record attendance by seating 1589 guests. Despite this huge increase in seating capacity we sold out in under an hour resulting in a very long waiting list. We remain, again, the largest Charity Lunch held in the UK.

2017 witnessed a bid to break the Guinness World Record for ‘Most people lighting LED lights in a relay’ – it truly was a sight to behold and SPIFOX guests, strewn with fairy lights, could be spotted into the wee small hours at a variety of hostelries throughout the City!

As each year passes, the generosity of the property industry continues to be a source of inspiration and 2017 was no exception. Monies raised in December exceeded £253,000 – a truly awesome result! These monies will benefit our 3 principal beneficiaries being Place2Be, CHAS and So Precious. Additionally, the fabulous total will allow us to make a significant number of small donations to less well known, but equally deserving, Charities.

Please note that our 2018 event will be held on Wednesday 19th December, further information and the booking form will be available to download at the beginning of October - watch this space!
